Deputy Minister Chen Encouraged New Blood to Inherit the Glorious CPU 86th Anniversary

Tsung-yen Chen, Deputy Minister of the Interior, attended the Central Police University (CPU) 86th Anniversary Opening Ceremony. He bestowed a Grade One Level Two Police Medal on CPU President Che-wen Chen and praised the other five extinguished alumni. "CPU is the cradle of education for law enforcement workers. There are many aspiring youngsters who choose to study in the CPU rather than enrolling in the best national university. This reflects the affirmation and recognition of the police of all segments of society. I look forward to seeing CPU inherit the glorious tradition, and continue to cultivate great people to safeguard social security, as well as support for all people," said Deputy Minister Chen.

During the ceremony, Deputy Minister Chen awarded the CPU President Che-wen Chen a medal, and praised distinguished alumni including the Chair of the Department of Law from Hsuan Chuang University, Chen-jung Tsai, President of Taiwan Police College Kuo-wen Chung, the Warden of Taipei Prison Tse-sheng Wu, the former Commissioner of the Criminal Investigating Bureau, Chia-lu Huang, and former Director of Northern Branch, Coast Guard Administration, Ta-kuei Fu for their long-term efforts in different fields, such as policing, coast guard, correction, firefighting, migrant, national security, and education, etc. Deputy Minister Chen also encouraged all cadets to use these outstanding alumni as examples so as to inherit the past and usher in the future.

Deputy Minister Chen emphasized that the Government will back police work with action and continue to enhance workplace safety through legislation, budgets, regulations, etc. So the police don't bother about the backside and focus on their duties.
