Minister Chen Wei Ren of Minister of Interior, hosted the opening ceremony of the 34th sports meets of Central Police University on November 19th, 2015. The opening parade by each department including Captain America, Thor, Iron man, One piece, Ice Age, Toy Story demonstrated the imagination of and passion of students, thus adding fun of festival into the competition’s atmosphere.

Minister Chen was greatly impressed after seeing the endless innovations and vitality, especially the team spirit and cooperation between each participant. Besides encouraging athletes’ performance, the minister also emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and wished everyone a great day of competition. The minister also encouraged the students: “no arrogance in victory, no despair in defeat” and to show sportsmanship, create personal records and pursuit honor for the team. Additionally, while seeing the senior students showing the slogan of “all pass”, the minister would also work out with NPA and Examination yuan to ensure there’re are proper work opportunities for students so that students could apply what they learned into work.

After the opening ceremony, the minister led the teachers and students to do aerobic exercises. And then the class of 812 and 822 defended the title of tug-of-war, aiming for the third title next year. 811 earned a silver medal while being in a phase of preparation for the national examination, which showed their insistence and efforts toward the sports meet.

The chairman of CPU alumnus union Ho Nuan Hsuan offered 100,000 dollars as reward in order to encourage the athletes and the rewards were awarded by president Tiao in the afternoon. Through one and a half days, the competition was intense that woman’s 4X100 record was broken by 831 with 54”53, which was rewarded with gift certificate and money award. Student Lin from 811, Lien from 821, Lin from 821, Tong from 821 and Hsu from 831 had great performances that each of them won two gold medals. This year, the extension education center participated actively and had shown their training result by winning 1 gold medal, 4 silver medals and 3 bronze medals. This made them full of potential.

The sport events were very competitive, scores of different teams were very closed that make everyone nervous. Finally, 831 won the championship and 811 won the President’s award. 841, was in charge of facilities services, won the best service award. Special thanks to Liu Fu-Fu, the secretary-general of New Taipei City sport, he led judge team to umpire the two-day competition. Fortunately every athlete accepted the umpire's decision showed sportsmanship which enabled the perfect ending.
