publish date : 2015-12-10

The monthly meeting was held on Friday, October 23, from 10:20 to 12:00 in the Zhong Zheng Hall of Central Police University (CPU). De-Mei Zheng, President of the National Defense University (NDU) delivered a speech with the subject of “Make Dreams Come True, Road to Excellence.” President Zheng shared his life experience of achieving the goal by delivering five sub-topics of “The importance and management of time”, “Make your dream come true”, “Just do it”, “Changes can bring power” and “Persistence leads to success.”

President Zheng encouraged students to cherish your time and expand your life vision since we can only live once. He also mentioned that everyone should pursuit his dream without fearing being mocked. Once the goal is determined, just go for it and face any difficulty without fear, and keep going till the end. There is a saying worth of conducting throughout our life: Men are great for the dreams they have.

The most fascinating part of President Zheng’s speech is the brief update of NDU. He mentioned to encourage NDU students to beautify campus by using the unwanted recycle resources to make grand-size public art, and a so-called “train café” was created by using an abandoned train carriages. These are the “power of changes”, said President Zheng. Also, the student meal in NDU is pretty impressive.

Lastly, President Zheng concluded his speech with his own motto, which said that studying is for pursuing the step of the greats, not for a better job while a job is a mean to sacrifice oneself to the country, and not for being the breadwinner.
