CPU 78th Anniversary

On September 1, 2014, the 78th anniversary ceremony of Central Police University (CPU) was presided over Premier Yi-huah Jiang with the 1700 attendees including dignitaries from various fields, CPU faculty and students.

Premier Jiang stated that the mission of CPU is to cultivating Police Officers. It provides good training environment with fruitful results. Due to the excellent teaching and research achievements and practical training environment of CPU, students admitted to top national universities choose to attend CPU. In the end, Jiang encouraged students maintaining the virtues and traits that make a good police officer.

The Premier also mentioned that police duties are tough and tedious. Also, the multiple gas explosions in Kaohsiung on June 31, several firefighters were killed in the line of duty. Law enforcement agents have done respectable jobs. The Premier especially encouraged students to follow the good tradition created by seniors, furthermore to make it better than best.

Premier Jiang expressed his encouragement and compliment on the establishment of the Graduate School of Disaster Management, August 1, 2014. The improvements of facilities and the system will help CPU graduate serve better in the line of duty. He encouraged CPU students to gain enough professional skills and contribute to society after graduation.

Due to various challenges from plural society, Premier Jiang specially encouraged CPU faculty should frequently update information in respect to realistic changes for students; therefore students can apply these cutting edge knowledge to work, right after graduation.

Premier Jiang also expects CPU faculty to combine theory and the practice, adopt suggestions from the front line officer to enrich essence of police education. Furthermore, to prove education value and let everyone believed that CPU cultivates the best Cadres with best education system.

After the ceremony, the Political Deputy Minister Jin-Chun Chen, the CPU President Chien-sheng Tiao, the Director-General of Fire Agency Chi-Tang Yeh, the Director of Prevention and Response Office of Executive Yuan Kuo-Shiang Chou and the Director-General of Taoyuan County Fire Bureau Jing-Shuh Hsieh hosted the Launching Ceremony for the Graduate School of Disaster Management. It has been a milestone for work in disaster research and attempts to yield social science knowledge on disasters and information that can and has been applied to develop more effective policies, programs, and planning to reduce disaster impacts.
