The 103th year of R.O.C. Central Police University Commencement Ceremony was held on June 6, 2014. We gladly invited President Ma to be the main host. The total of 540 graduates was honored in the ceremony including 7 Ph.D. degrees graduates, 124 masters' graduates, 293 bachelor graduates, as well as 116 two-year Bachelor of Technology degrees.

President Ma stated that, in addition to preventing and combating crime, the police must also shoulder the responsibility of serving the people and stabilizing social order.

Young people have played a big role at any times. President Ma encouraged graduates and police colleagues that everyone must be honest and capable of police work in order to be trusted by people. People have quite opposite mentality facing police. When people are in violation of the provisions of the Act, they do not like the police; however, when their safety is threatened, they show a great need for the protection of police. What Government should do is to let the frontline polices devoted themselves into social order with dignity, morale, and courage.

Due to the coming police festival on June 15th, President Ma took the chance to express his thoughts to police colleagues all around the country and would like to congratulate all the graduates. Police should to always remember that people rely on police at any times. Do not destroy people's trust because of discipline problems and the ability. It is expected that all new graduates must devote and dedicate to social stability when they put law into practice as frontline, also to do their best to work for serving people.

The President Ma’s speech and wishes won big hands from graduates and their parents. We were honored for President Ma chairing our Commencement for the fifth time, and it also showed that President Ma paid a great attention to cadre police education. Ceremony was ended in a warm and grand atmosphere. More than 500 graduates will soon join police work such as fight against crime or maintenance of law and social order.
