publish date : 2014-04-25

Central Police University was invited to attend the “2014 University Expo” hosted by China Times Group. The exposition was held on February 22nd and 23rd at the gym of National Taiwan University. Central Police University(CPU) selectively sent excellent students from each department to recruit prospects and promote CPU.

During the two-day activity, CPU was the most popular universities. All of the faculties and student representatives eagerly answer various questions to the parents and provide information.

There are two academic programs in CPU: The natural science and the social science. To apply CPU's undergraduate program, students submit their college entrance examination scores and apply online. Four out of five scores of college entrance examination will be adopted for admission. Students can only select one group from them when they fill out the online application. Undergraduate programs are tuition waiver programs. During their study at CPU, students must live on campus and are required to receive senior police cadres training courses.

There are two colleges: College of Police Science and Technology (six departments) and College of Justice Administration (seven departments), twelve graduate schools and three doctor programs in CPU. Central Police University expects to recruit 296 students this year, including 114 boys and 23 girls of the science and engineer departments, and 124 boys and 35 girls of the liberal arts departments. There are 238 boys and 58 girls in total.

In recent years, there are approximately 90 percent of students who also got accepted by public universities (unlike in western systems, public universities are more difficult to be admitted in Taiwan). We welcome outstanding students to join our group of police missions. The graduates of CPU will be appointed to National Police Administration, National Fire Administration, National Immigration Agency and Coast Guard Administration and the ministry of Justice after passing the Special Examination for Police Officers. The leaders of the units mentioned above mostly graduate from central police university. Meanwhile there are still lots of graduates from CPU served as a diplomat or Justice personnel who work hard for the safety of country and the welfare of people .

CPU is the most professional educational unit of police education in Taiwan. To cultivate extraordinary police personnel, the educations and trainings are tough and strict. The students have to acquire skills of Judo, Chinese Wrestling, shooting, swimming, distant running and arresting techniques besides of regular academic studies. The education of morality and characteristic is specially emphasized according to the expectations of fulfilling the missions for police professionals.

In the opening ceremony, president Tiao, Chien-sheng addressed that Taiwan remains stable development in social order and economy although it went through curfew and political party alternation in past thirty years. Tiao used turmoil in Bangkok and Ukraine as examples to enhance the importance of law enforcement by the police. Overall, Tiao also encouraged bright prospect to join CPU and serve our country.
