Second semester of 2012 school year "Teaching Symposium"
The second semester of 2012 school year's "Teaching Symposium" was held in CPU's research building from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on February 22th, 2013. 158 full-time and part-time teachers participated in this event.
President Hsieh delivered a speech at the beginning of the ceremony. He emphasized the importance of sharing school affairs and administration work in this meaningful seminar and was grateful that many teachers can attend this seminar. Ever since the second semester of 2008 school year, this is the ninth teaching symposium . The goal was to connect each teacher with our school's education value. It is hoped that we could shape our students to be a model of public servant by following the law, being strict in performing our official duties, remaining neutral, and valuing the protection of personal information and sexual equality. Our graduates can be the guardian of citizen and justice after the graduation.
In recent months, some professor in Taiwan broke the law by releasing personal information while being a governmental reviewer and the others being prosecuted because of incorrect receipts for their national science council research project. Both cases have been the top issues in the national university council meeting for presidents this year. In addition, President Hsieh particularly mentioned about travelling to China must follow the standard procedure to apply for permission . Also, teachers should aware of emergency reporting system, enhancing crisis prevention and solving ability. When confronting emergency cases such as sexual harassment, sexual assault, drunk-driving and hit-and-run incidents, criminal and security crisis cases, we should have the immediate response Prosecutor Lu, Ding-wang, from Taiwan Supreme Court prosecutor's office, was invited as our honored guest speaker to deliver a speech of "College response strategy to personal information protection law". His speech combined theory and practical usage, and well-described details. Lots of compliments were aroused. The speech was followed by a general report of various CPU's departments:
1. Dean of General affairs department, Associate Professor Chu, Chin-chih, announced a solution of responding to Executive Yuan's request of terminating buses for commuting .
2. Director Wang, Hsueh-ling from the accounting and statistics office reported on the National Science Council research project budget verification and cancellation notification.
3. Director ZENG, PIAN-YI from traffic police department reported on "experiences of applying for national science council research project".
4. Director of Personnel Office, Ms. Sheu, Shu-Jeng explained the new government health insurance premium rate and adjustments on withhold supplementary premium.
In order to response to the 2015 department evaluation, we also invited Director WANG, ZHAO-HUANG from department of information management to share the experience of establishing a gradable learning plan. Afterwards, dean of academic affairs reported a simplified version of relative affairs in this semester . At the end, department meetings were arranged for opinion sharing and communication among teachers.
