To promote the learning of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Central Police University encouraged 1,400 students to attend "Challenging Guinness World Record with ten thousands people doing CPR" held by Taoyuan county government on December 7, 2012.

Total 20,035 participants, including Taoyuan county mayor, Zhi-Yang Wu attended this activity. This activity not only set the new Guinness World Record that most people do CPR in a certain place within 24 hours, but also provided good results in promoting CPR.

Graduates of fire science department of CPU are assigned to work at fire-fighting and rescue agencies. During their study at CPU, each student has to take CPR training and to obtain EMT-1 certificate to achieve the burden of the work and rescue lives. CPU students in other departments might also obtain CPR training. CPU students attended this CPR promoting event, when Taoyuan county government held "Challenging Guinness World Record with 10000 performing CPR" activity.

During the activity, all participants administer the CPR in compliance with the operation manuals of CPR newly issued by Department of Heath, Executive Yuan, in 2010, and the slogan is "Shout Call C A B" in short. First of all, shout at the patient in order to check out his consciousness and the breath. Secondly, call 119, and try to find Automatic External Defibrillator, AED; then, start chest compression; lean down the forehead and lift up the chin to keep the airway unimpeded; blow air mouth-to-mouth to retrieve the patient's respiration; last, if AED is available, start defibrillation for the patient before the ambulance arrives.

In case of respiratory or cardiac arrest aroused by drowning, electric shock, cardiovascular disease or other causes, through chest compression and mouth-to-mouth artificial respiration, CPR could make critical effect to save life in time.
