CPU's 31st Sports Meets
The CPU's 31st Sports Meets was held from November 8th afternoon to 9th, 2012. Tseng Chung-Ming, the Vice Minister of the Interior was invited to host the opening ceremony. The opening parade was brought by the ten departments and the international students. The opening parade demonstrated the imagination of and determination of students.
During the opening remark, Deputy Minister Tseng specially emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and encouraged athletes. After the ceremony, Deputy Minister Tseng and President Hsieh, the students and faculty and staff joined aerobic dance exercise together. In addition to the warm up, the atmosphere had been raised to the top. Afterwards, deputy minister fired a shot to start the tug-of-war game and started the athletic competitions.
The competition lasted one and a half days, every unit was competing intensively. Ms. Yu Shiou Huang set the new school record of the women's javelin by 36.10 meter. Her achievement excited all the participants at present. We were particularly grateful for the assistance of Mr. Sheng Hsiung Wang and Mr. Fu Fu Liu from New Taipei City sports office. They leaded their international judge groups working hard for two days. All the participants could obey the judge's rules and show the spirit of the athlete which made a wonderful ending.
This time, the 781 brigade won the minister championship and the 791 brigade won the president championship. The 792 brigade won the best service prize because they were in charge of the sports equipment. President was grateful for everyone because of their passionate participant, their efforts and good grades. In the end, he awarded all the students and teachers the most enthusiast prize and that made the moment touching.
