Investigation and Forensic Technology Building Groundbreaking Ceremony

On March 27th, 2012, CPU held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Investigation and Forensic Technology building. Li Hong-Yuan, Minister of the Interior, was invited to host the ground breaking. Other guests such as Taoyuan County mayor Wu Zhi-Yang, New Taipei City deputy mayor Hou You-Yi, director Wu Xian-Zhang of the Agency of correction, ministry of justice, director Yeh Jin-tong of the National fire agency, ministry of the interior, and chief Huang Min-Jie of the north section construction, construction and planning agency, ministry of the interior were all invited to attend.

President Hsieh Xiu-Neng, on behalf of the university would like to thanks everyone that supported the project. President Ma has shown his strong support towards " The intermediate education for police officers promotion project " when the project was first mentioned during 2009. Also with the help of Executive Yuan, " the investigation and forensic science technology building " budget has been approve successfully.

Minister Li Hong-Yuan indicates during the speech that police officers are facing such a rapid change of world technology and different types of criminal activities. It is imperative that there are adjustments in police training. Minister Li pointed out that the university is playing a central role of securing public order in the future. The investigation and forensic science technology building project will not only strengthen the staffs and students abilities but it also can advance the police investigation technology.

Minister Li said, graduates from the university not only given their dedication for social security but also occupy important jobs in different fields. Minister Li believes the investigation and forensic science building can greatly benefited central police university and let police officer have better training and equipment. Minister Li then visited the campus and listened to President Hsieh's briefing of the university to understand the school's education training condition and future developing trend.

The project was divided into building A and building B. Building A consists of four floors and two underground floors and Building B consists of seven floors and two underground floors. The whole project costs eight hundred and eighty million NT dollars. The building was estimated to be completed in four years. It is a multi-function building, which combines education, training, research, and forensic science. The laboratories for crime investigation, such as criminal DNA, micro evidence, drugs identification, insects identification, fingerprint capture, molecule biology were located inside the building. The laboratories for fire fighting, traffic, ocean patrolling, fire identification, traffic accident identification, ocean environment and pollution will also be located. It is hoped that after the completion of the project, it will increase the level of central police university's investigation and forensic science education, research and identification quality, and cultivate more excellent technology police officers.
