Central Police University (CPU) solemnly held the "Honorary Doctorate Conferral Ceremony for Mr. Kuo-I Yeh" in its auditorium on October 2, 2026. Presided over by President Huang Ming-chao, the university conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Law upon Mr. Kuo-I Yeh, Founder and Group Chairman of Inventec Group. This prestigious accolade recognizes Chairman Yeh’s dedicated support for police education, his outstanding contributions to modernizing physical tactics and digital instructional facilities, and his enduring commitment to the police, coast guard, and correctional services.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman Yeh’s family and friends, corporate executives, distinguished community leaders, and representatives from police and fire service authorities. Notably, Mr. Kuo-en Chen, former Director-General of the National Police Agency, served as the keynote introducer, followed by a tribute video commemorating Chairman Yeh’s life achievements and contributions. Upon receiving the honorary doctorate diploma and completing the tassel-turning ceremony, Dr. Yeh delivered a keynote address to the faculty and student body. The event concluded in an atmosphere both warm and dignified.

In addition to his remarkable professional accomplishments in the technology manufacturing sector, Chairman Kuo-I Yeh has long demonstrated deep concern for police education and the campus learning environment. Over the years, he has generously funded the refurbishment of student dormitories, invested digital resources to modernize instructional equipment, and financed the redevelopment of disused campus buildings. Furthermore, he actively supported the renovation of the Safe Driving Training Center, the resurfacing of the courts at the Police Tactics Hall, the upgrade of gymnasium facilities, and the deployment of a campus-wide Automated External Defibrillator (AED) emergency network—comprehensively safeguarding the well-being of faculty and students while elevating instructional excellence.

In the realms of police administration and public welfare, Chairman Yeh serves as the Chief Honorary Advisor to the Republic of China Police Friends Association, and established both the Ching-Kwang Police Award and the Coast Guard Care Fund. In August 2016, he spearheaded the establishment of the "Charitable Trust Fund for Police Medical Care and Assistance," which provides ongoing grants for medical treatment, long-term care and placement, bereavement relief, educational support for surviving children, and mental health self-care programs for officers killed or injured in the line of duty—serving as a timely, substantial, and steadfast pillar of support for frontline law enforcement personnel.

The conferral of this Honorary Doctorate in Law represents the highest recognition of Chairman Kuo-I Yeh’s deep-rooted dedication to police education, welfare of police personnel, and philanthropic service. Looking ahead, Central Police University will uphold this support and shared expectation, continuing its commitment to advancing education in police technology and criminal investigation. By joining forces with benevolent communities across society, the university strives to inject robust professional excellence into safeguarding national security and the public welfare.
