Central Police University (CPU) presented its current developments and future vision at the Ministry of the Interior (MOI) affairs meeting on April 30, 2026. Wu Tang-An, the administrative deputy minister of MOI, stated that as the trend of global crime has evolved into increasingly high-tech, cross-border, and covert in nature, CPU has transformed and strengthened its programs into technology investigation, digital forensics, and cybersecurity. The university aims to cultivate a new generation of police professionals to support national security.

According to MOI, CPU has implemented a project since 2024 to enhance its teaching capacity in response to modern types of crime. The university has built up teaching and research systems for big data analysis, AI applications, digital forensics, and drones. Through the use of simulation classrooms and cross-field labs, students gain hands-on, real-world scenario experience, which makes it easier to bridge the gap between academic training and practical fieldwork.

Furthermore, CPU is planning a mid-term project from 2027 to 2029 to enhance the teaching capacity of technology investigation and security protection. This project will continue upgrading teaching environments and research equipment, focusing on critical infrastructure protection, cybersecurity, and tech crime prevention.

MOI also pointed out that CPU has planned several reforms and strategies, including establishing the Executive Master Program in Tech Crime Investigation to cultivate professional leaders. Additionally, the university will pursue continuous improvement of its education system by strengthening courses in technology investigation, law, and languages, while deepening the cooperation between police, judicial agencies, and international partners to combine technology with practical needs and enhance the capability to combat modern crime and maintain public safety ultimately.
